Phase 2 public beta is hatched

We have taken the holding page down to make the site accessible to the public for at least the next 4 weeks. Since we’re a social web service we don’t think a private beta makes much sense.

There are still rough edges for us to smooth and a host of features we are working towards rolling out, but the basic hatch and dispatch features that are basis of HMD are now live – allowing users to start creating, saving, sharing and remembering moments.

We are still holding of a full hard launch with all the associates PR fanfare, but in the meantime we invite anyone interested to create some moments and let us know how they find the site.

We’re very excited to announce that the month of October is going to be a big one for HMD. We will be pushing our first ‘beta’ version live in a matter of days and this will see the start of an intense roll out of exciting features and upgrades to the site as we start to get some live testing and user involvement.

As easy as Create, Connect & Communicate

So how easy is HatchMatchDispatch? Well as easy as it gets to share your most precious moments with exactly who you want to when you want.

A simple 3 step approach is the basis for how the service works:

1) Hatch: Create & Save moments. Each time a user creates a moment it is saved to their personal timeline – users can then share, edit and grow their moments, or just leave as moments pending for a later date.

2) Match: Connect & Find allows users connect with each other and to find moments and their authors based on name, location, nicknames, type of moment. We use geo-tags for each moment that relate to where that moment took place or where the author has friends, family and connections – like where you grew up or went to school, not just where you are now.

3) Dispatch: Communicate & Share allows user to choose exactly how to communicate their moments to others. From simple privacy settings, contact importing, social network connecting and auto share tools, you control who, where and how your moments are seen by others.

Over the coming months we will be adding new functions, but this core 3 step service will be the foundation of everything we do at HMD – it’s very important you are in control of your life moments the way you want to be.

Welcome to HatchMatchDispatch the new way to save and share your life moments.

Built out of the idea of bringing traditional newspaper public announcements into the digital age, the HMD Team is developing a better way to save and share you most important memories and experiences online. ‘The birth of a baby’, ‘Marriage of friends’, or ‘Celebrating a loved ones life’ HMD brings to life the idea of Births, Deaths and Marriages, plus everything in between, helping users create, their own personal timeline – safe and secure and personalised to use and share as they wish.

From the beginning HMD has been motivated to create a place for everyones most precious memories that is not disturbed by the general daily noise of other Social Media websites, or micro blogging services.

A good way of understanding HMD is by thinking of it like a photo sharing website, where you can upload, save, manage, edit and share you best personal photos with friends, family and colleagues. Further more you can connect with your social groups and old friends and associates or just others with common interest. Instead of just photo’s HMD is centred around collated moments – ‘A birth’, ‘A marriage’, ‘Starting life in a new country’, ‘Graduating college’ or ‘The passing of a loved one’. A ‘Moment’ can be made up of photo’s, video and words and can saved and shared in a way that your have complete control over.

This is the start of what we hope to be an exciting journey where we share some of our greatest and fondest moments together online – over the coming months we will use this blog to announce new developments and some of HMD’s first moments.
